I have spent hours and hours perfecting this emergency whoopee cushion and I’ll share it with you. I call it The Tooter Cushion. It can come in handy if you forgot to bring your actual whoopee cushion and you need one quickly, like in a restaurant, in class, or at the library.
Making these is an art and can take a little practice to get just right. You have to find the right balance between how much to inflate the balloon and how wide you spread the popsicle sticks holding the balloon closed. You might not get it on your first try, but don’t give up! Practice making Tooter Cushions so you can master the art. Then you’ll be ready for any fart emergency.

Materials:
*balloon
*rubber band
*2 popsicle sticks
*rubber band
*2 popsicle sticks
Steps:

1. Place the two popsicle sticks on top of each other.
2. Wrap a rubber band around the popsicle sticks in the middle. The band should be tight enough that the popsicle sticks stay
together, but loose enough to still move apart when you pull them apart.
3. Next, inflate the balloon about halfway. Hold the mouth of the balloon closed with one hand.

4. With your other hand grab the stacked popsicle sticks with the elastic and slide the ends apart like scissors.
5. Lay the mouth of the balloon so it is perfectly flat on the inside of the popsicle sticks, in between the opening where they intersect.
6. Close the popsicle sticks over the mouth of the balloon, using the sticks as a clamp to hold the balloon closed.
7. This can be tricky to get right, so you may need to adjust the air in the balloon, and where the elastic is on the popsicle sticks. I found that it works best if you spread the sticks just enough so the ends make a heart shape. Ahhhh, I know, isn’t that cute? –
Barf, gross!

8. Place the Tooter Cushion in a spot where it is hidden and can easily be depressed by an unsuspecting bottom.
9. Sit back and try not to blow your cover by laughing too hard.
